The project tooks inspiration from how Giovanni Maironi da Ponte described the village of Carenno in 1819: “the village is a single body”, that’s why the new building for the refurbishment and the extension of the Sport Centre swings form a single element to a conglomerates of volumes.

The corridors become streets, the entrances squares, and the external space fields, or glades, and the new volumes act as little architectures that assembling into and onto the existing building and they translate the complexity of the internal program.

The architecture produces its own microcosm, where the complexity of the different functions interact and compete with the researched simple aspect of the architecture.
